UIL Capital Conference

23rd Annual UIL CAPITAL CONFERENCE

Tuesday, June 25 - Wednesday, June 26, 2019

AT&T Conference Center and Hotel

Think of it as Coaching School for UIL Academics!

Sessions will include:

  • a variety for high school academic coaches and coordinators, covering most high school academic events.
  •  a full range of speech and debate sessions in all events
  •  a full range of theatre and OAP sessions
  •  a variety of sessions for A+ coaches and coordinators

Specific classes will be offered for first-time as well as veteran coordinators/coaches for high school and elementary, middle school and junior high. If you are interested in presenting a workshop please contact the UIL academic staff. Attendees are eligible to earn up to 10.5 hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit.

Held each summer at The University of Texas at Austin, the UIL Capital Conference offers everything a speech coach, theatre director, academic coach or coordinator—high school or elementary, middle or junior high—needs to know, from eligibility rules to setting up a budget to prose and poetry selections to researching the cross-examination debate resolution. Featuring many of the state's most outstanding and successful academic coaches and coordinators as well as many of the League's state contest directors, the Capital Conference is the most economical and effective way to make certain your school year kicks off on the right foot.

Refunds: The last day to request a refund is June 18, 2018. There will be a $20 cancellation fee per registration. Refunds will be processed after the conference.
Please note: there is no longer a grant that subsidizes any portion of the conference.

Special Hotel Rate-Now Available

Only 175 rooms are available at the AT&T Conference Center for a discounted rate of $189/night for Monday, June 25 and Tuesday, June 26, so book early.  Cut off date for the special rate is May 24, 2018.

Parking

Conference Center garage is beneath the Conference Center.  Parking rate for Overnight guests at the hotel is $18.  Daily parking for commuters is $18/day max.  If Conference Center garage is full, the closest parking garages are the UT Brazos Garage on MLK (beside the Blanton Museum) and the Dobie Garage located at 2005 Whitis Ave, between MLK and 21st St. Parking is on a self-pay basis.
